SQUIDRIG.JPG (10107 bytes) Hi-Liner Spreader Bar Rigs

Hi-Liner Spreader Bar Rigs are built using Ocean Lure Concept Shell  Squid in either the 13" or 17" sizes. These rigs have proven themselves  very productive for most species of tuna and make great teaser rigs for  tuna, marlin, and sailfish as they produce a large surface disturbance to  draw game fish from depth.

Center Daisy Chain is constructed using  either Momoi’s Hi-Catch 500lb. test monofilament or American  Fishing Wire’s 49-strand 480lb. test cable. A DoBoy #8 (500lb. test)  snap swivel is used to attach the hook bait to the rest of the chain so  that hook baits may be changed or removed if the rig is used as a  teaser. A Rosco 8/0 swivel (900lb. test) is used to connect to the  trolling line and a Rosco 4/0 snap swivel connects the chain to the bar.  Standard hook is a Mustad double strength 7698B 10/0.

Outboard  squid are attached to the bar using Momoi’s Hi-Catch 130lb. test   monofilament.

Spreader bar rigs are constructed using either 3' or 4'  trolling bars and using ten, fifteen, or twenty shell squids.

Standard  configurations are:

10 or 15 X 13" squids or 10 X 17" squids
on a 3 ft. bar.

15 X 17" squids or  20 X 13" squids
on a 4' trolling bar.

Options include Momoi’s Black Chrome Hooks, various  Mustad 7698B hooks, black bars, heavy duty bars, and 5' bars.

Hi-Liner offers spreader bars  constructed of spring stainless steel with welded eyes. Bars are available with standard stainless  steel finish or a black powder coating in the standard 1/8" diameter and heavy duty 3/16"  diameter in 3', 4', and 5' lengths.
Mesh bag included.

Hi-Liner inventories over thirty colors of Ocean Lure Concept shell squids. Please consult color chart when ordering.

Custom rigs are available using trolling  feathers or any of the Moldcraft Lures in this catalogue.
